Download AOL Instant Messenger

this will take you to the AIM download page of America On-Line.

Click on the "new users" button, you will then be asked to register as a new AOL Instant Messenger user, you must enter a screen name and a password. The screen name will also become your chat room name. After you choose your name and password, you can download and install AOL Instant Messenger.

As you proceed, a file download dialog will display, which will allow you to save the instant messenger installation file. However you can change the option to run it from the current location. This install the application but doesn't store the file on your hard disk.

As you install Instant Messenger, you'll be asked to accept a license agreement. Be sure that you read and accept the terms of the agreement before continuing. You'll be asked to verify the directory where you want to install AOL Instant Messenger. It's OK to accept the defaults.

When you start running Instant Messenger, you'll see a sign-on screen. Key in your screen name and your password, and you'll be logged on to AOL's Instant Messenger system.
